Eurobank was to symbolize the cooperation and transparency of the EU. It was heavily inspired by two works of Rem Koolhaas, 1.) the barcode like Euro flag and 2.) the Beverly Hills Prada Retail store.
The first floor of Eurobank is uncontained and completely open to the public like the Prada store. At night panels would rise to create a secure enclosure. The facade’s transparent/opaque/translucent elements fall into a pattern similar the bar code like flag. Eurobank plays with themes of ambiguous structure/ornament, private/public, interior/exterior.
